Thalia

Thalía is a platinum-selling recording artis, internationally known actress, accomplished businesswoman and nationally syndicated radio host.  Born in Mexico City, she began her career as a child star on Mexican television and theater.  In the Spanish-language entertainment world, Thalí is loved and admired for her music, telenovelas andher concert tours.  Thalía is also featured regularly in print and television advertising campaigns for her Thalía Sodi Collection line of clothing at K-Mart adn her Thalía Eyewear Collection.  She frequently appears on the fashion and celebrity pages of numerous magazines including People, People en Español and Latina Style.

Television Superstar - Thalía is often referred to as the queen of the telenovelas.  Durning the 1990s, she dominated the ratings - first in her native Mecixo and then in over 180 other countries with her legendary trilogy of romantic  "Maria" telenovelas: Maria Mercedes, Marimar and Maria la Del Barrio.  These soap operas broke audience records globally earning top ratings positions on even their second and third runs.

Singer - Thalía has universal appeal and can top the charts in Spanish and English.  She joined the kid-pop group Din Din when she was a young girl.  As a teenager, Thalía moved to the United States and began one of the most successful recording careers in the Latin music industry.  With a string of Grammy nominations and #1 singles, she is a reigning force in Latin music.  Her 2002 self-titled album ranked #1 on both the Latin Albums and the Latin Pop Album charts in Billboard for six weeks.  The album went multi-platinum in the U.S. and produced three #1 Latin singles.  In recognition of her accomplishments, Thalía earned two Billboard Latin Music Awards - Best Female Pop Album of the Year and the People's Choice Award.  The following year's collection, also titled Thalía, marked her English-language debut.  Her most recent album, Lunada, was released in 2008.  The music video for the first single from the album, Ten Paciencia, debuted at #1 in the Top 30 countdown for MTV TR3S making her the first female artist ever to debut at the top position.

Businesswoman - In the world of fashion, Thalía is calling the shots and channeling her creative spirit into designs that carry her name.   She has created a line of clothing, eyewear and accessories for women and girls.  The line was initially offered in 100 K-Mart stores, and since then has expanded into 1,400 retail locations nationwide.  Thalía's name is also associated with the legendary chocolate and candy company Hershey's, where she has created "La Dulceria Thalía" - her own line of candy products.

Radio Host - in 2007, Thalía launched The Conexión Thalía Radio Show.  The popular two-hour weekly program is syndicated to Spanish-language radio stations across the U.S. and offers her the opportunity to discuss music, fashion and entertainment with her fans.  In its first two years, the show has earned a loyal audience and drawn major consumer advertisers looking to associate with Thalía's selling power.

Thalía and her husband, Tommy Mottola, reside in New York City.
